Taigan TG TF by JohnColburn Taigan TG TF by JohnColburn
Okay so this is finally done. Anybody who read my last journal might guess... I managed to screw up so many times on this I lost count. At some point I was pretty sure I had completely ruined it and nothing could possibly save it.

I didn't really feel like giving up though.

So after extensive corrective measures it ended up working pretty well. I always have to "clean up" my pencil drawings (and yes, this is real pencil on paper) when I scan them. This one? I think I spent more time "cleaning" than I spent drawing it in the first place. The original is just that bad.

I'm pretty happy with the results here though. This is the finished line art, completely cleaned and everything. One thing you may notice is that the level of detail is a bit higher here than in a lot of things I draw. That's because each frame is about 7 inches tall on the paper. IE turn your printer paper sideways... they stretch from top to bottom. Big drawings for me; usually when I draw a person on paper the actual measurement is about 3 to 6 inches tall.

All of which may have been my problem. I was trying to challenge myself and do something incredible the whole time and managed to fail catastrophically over and over because of it. I could have produced the same quality in much less time if I had just had the sense to let it happen.

At any rate, I do plan to color this although I have NO TIME FRAME for doing so. I have no idea when it will be done. I hope that's okay.

Also, I guess this part bears mentioning, this sequence features the incredible *Taigan who earned it by locating the source and meaning of the title "Ninmu Nanmu" about 15 minutes after I challenged someone to do exactly that.

For everybody's reference, this is the description of the TF result:

"Let's say tight back jeans and tank-top. Straight black hair just past shoulder length with one thin braid off to one side of the face. 2-4 ear piercings but none anywhere else. Still with glasses. On one of the arms, one of those spiral armbands [link] A little heavier than you usually draw your characters, "real women have curves" kind-of-thing."

I did my best on all points. The glasses were a challenge (I don't usually draw eyes when I draw glasses... for some reason <.<;) but I think it worked out. Also, I apparently took "a little heavier" and "real women have curves" to also mean "really huge breasts". It just kinda worked out that way.

At any rate, I hope you like it Tiagan ^^. I did my best to match your description and whatnot. I took some liberties with the outfits to match the overall theme of Ninmu Nanmu. It will match the description even better when I color it. It's hard to match clothing color when you're doing line art.

Wow that was a lot of typing. Sorry folks, I'm out of time!

Really fine sequence and a fine looking young lady as the result -- love her glasses, too. Maybe her waist is just a tad too thin for most "real women," but she looks contented in the last frame -- as who wouldn't be, once she accepts her new gender. She still has a bit of muscle on the arms, but not out of line for a woman in good shape, so that's all good.

I love your work! Or should i say art. I wish this would happen to me only wearing a leather skirt and some high boots. I love it when he shrinks as he transforms. Nice tummy. Thank you for expressing what the artistically challenged can not.

That's a very interesting piece of work. 6 frames is about average, right? I have no idea.
It's interesting how the clothing changes pretty dramatically, but can still be percieved as the same style.
Have you seen my FanART yet? I don't care if you like it or not, I just want some feedback telling me the image has passed your eyes, please.

Ok, now that I've gushed about this in my journal: [link] some more detailed praise...

I have no problems with big boobs. :D And the way you drew my belly is exactly right! Very nice hair. Cool glasses and outfit.

The only things I would say against it are that I wish my armband was more visible in the last picture. And I think I'm better looking as a guy than that... but possibly not. =p

Seriously, this is wonderful. I'm sorry if it gave you a headache. I hope you got some good out of it. ^^;

"And I think I'm better looking as a guy than that..."

That's actually one of the biggest things I wasn't satisfied with in this one. With just the one reference I was struggling with the original likeness. In the original pencil it came out really badly and even with the time spent digitally correcting (I seriously redrew half the face in the first two panels) I'm not completely happy with it.

And the armband... it was mostly unfortunate coincidence that it turned away in the last panel. I randomly decided it should be on the right arm since you didn't specify and then randomly decided that the character would turn right in the last frame. Whoops x_x.

But those things aside, I'm glad to hear you like it so much ^^. It really does make me feel a lot better about my original misgivings. Hopefully with this I can learn to lighten up a bit and just let the art be what it will be ^^.

Not at all. I'd love to see it colored by someone else, in fact. I'm still in the learning phase of coloring my drawings so seeing someone else's technique would be very interesting to me.

Thanks ^^. I was pretty happy with the pants myself. I've been trying to work on drawing more interesting outfits. The world of fashion is huge o_o. Of course clothing design is an entire field of art in itself, so it's to be expected.

Oh, very nice piece of art! Yays for you!

I like those kinds of glasses without eyes, exactly cause the eyes get in the way... =P

And... hey! Nice pants! :flirty:

Yeah, I've always like drawing the glasses without eyes. It's just tricky to draw good expressive faces without any eyes.
